Join us in Edmonton for this unique interdisciplinary symposium in which we will explore how we can engage the health humanities to help us work collaboratively across disciplines and communities, to imagine and design innovative and transformative processes, communications, products, environments, services and experiences that can help to promote our collective health and well-being.
The "Design, the Health Humanities and the Community" symposium will bring together scholars, educators, students, researchers, practitioners, and others from design, the health sciences and related areas to participate in a sustained conversation focused on exploring a diversity of interdisciplinary perspectives and design and health humanities practices across the continuum of learning, including inter-professional learning.
We have developed a single-track symposium program. Jorge Frascara & Guille Noël (Universidad del las Americas Puebla, Mexico) and Alan Bleakley (Peninsula Medical School, UK) are our keynote speakers.
This two-day symposium explores perspectives and frameworks being introduced in the InSight2: Engaging the Health Humanities international exhibition, May 14th – June 8th. Following the opening reception for the InSight 2 exhibition on May 23rd from 7–10 pm at the FAB Gallery, the “Design, the Health Humanities, and the Community” symposium will begin on May 24th at 8am with registration, and an opening panel and paper sessions.
